KPhilosopher-Citizen Institute’s "Open House and Workshop"

"Immanuel Kant, who died in 1804, has agreed to appear at the Philosopher-Citizen Institute’s 'Open House and Workshop,' being held at Vroman's Bookstore on Saturday, January 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Kant, still sharp as a tack although a bit overwhelmed by the noise, indicated that he is willing to answer questions from the audience about his profound ethical theories. He will be 're-enlivened' by Dr. Michael Finkenbinder, Dean of Social Sciences Division whose scholarly specialization was Kant.

Kant was born in the East Prussian city of Königsberg in 1724. Although his outward life was one of legendary calm and regularity, Kant's intellectual work easily justified his own claim to have affected a Copernican revolution in philosophy. Beginning with his Inaugural Dissertation (1770), Kant patiently worked out the most comprehensive and influential philosophical program of the modern era.
